​My name is Sarah, and I have always had a deep passion for dogs and animals in general. Nothing brings me more joy than spending time with dogs and helping them lead fulfilling lives. The love of my life is Ted, a French Bulldog. It is a privilege to share my life with him, and I am not ashamed to admit that I adore him. He is the reason I get up every day. He has truly changed my life and helped me understand more about dogs than I could have ever imagined. He loves to learn, enjoys food, adores cuddles, excels at Scentwork, and is the best company. I am fortunate to spend a of time with him.

I work in both Kent and Surrey as a Canine Training Instructor and Canine Behaviour Technician. I studied both ATI and ABT under PACT (Professional Association of Trainers). PACT’s ethics align with my own, emphasizing not causing harm, fear, or injury to any animal.

I have studied how dogs learn the science behind the efficacy of non-aversive training and the potential harm it could cause. I will never use or promote any equipment such as E-collars, prong collars, pet correctors, or anything that could harm or impact the welfare of your dog. Aversive training can have welfare implications, such as damaging relationships, causing fear and fear-based responses such as redirection, anxiety, aggression, or a dog who is emotionally shut down.

Dogs respond best to reward based methods which have a positive impact on your dogs’ physical and emotional well-being, helps build a positive bond, create confidence and fewer behaviour problems. My aim is to discover your needs, help you understand and teach skills in a simple and fun way. I abide by PACT’s Code of Conduct in my approach to working with you and your dog. The ABT role is very important to me, it means I can work collaboratively alongside Clinical Animal Behaviourists, Vet Behaviourists or Vets to implement a Behaviour Modification Plan or an Environmental Modification Plan based on scientific evidence gathered and developed by co-professionals. I can use my skills and knowledge to apply a First Aid approach to behaviour modification and effectively communicate, guide and advise. This is to improve welfare for dogs I work alongside. I cannot diagnose or treat any physical or medical conditions, that’s your vets’ job!

Both qualifications are recognized by the ABTC (Animal Training Behaviour Council), signifying that I have undergone a comprehensive process that demonstrates my competence, skills, and dedication to animal welfare. I have your dog's well-being at heart.

I have trained Scentwork UK to run classes and one-on-one sessions. This is a highly rewarding activity for both you and your dog as it enhances your dog's natural behaviour and can be significantly beneficial in assisting with emotional regulation, fostering a bond, and fulfilling canine needs. All breed types are welcome and I also run classes and 1-1 sessions for dogs who may need extra space or can be reactive.
